Situated in Örnsköldsvik, northern Sweden, this cutting-edge Power-to-X facility, spearheaded by Ørsted, promises to redefine renewable energy production on a commercial scale. FlagshipONE is set to harness the power of 70 MW PEM electrolyzers and CO2 capture technology to produce a staggering 55,000 tons of e-methanol annually.
Breakthrough Energy Catalyst
The project’s credibility received a significant boost with the endorsement of Breakthrough Energy Catalyst, an initiative founded and backed by Bill Gates. With the acquisition of a 15% equity interest in FlagshipONE, the project establishes a direct link between 2JCP and one of the world’s foremost advocates for renewable energy technologies.
