A step towards energy independence of Ukraine: received a grant from the EU to increase biogas and hydrogen production.

A separate division of the international company MHP “MHP Eco Energy”, which heads the research group for new biomethane and biogas production technologies, concluded an agreement to receive more than €1,367,000 in grant funding as part of the European Commission’s “Horizon Europe” research and innovation program, which will be aimed at the development of new innovative projects for the production of biomethane and green hydrogen in the European Union and Ukraine.

Oleksandr Dombrovskyi, president of MHP Eco Energy, said:

Our team became a leader and headed one of the five innovative European teams for the development of new technologies for the production of biomethane and biogas in Europe.

The group, which in particular includes experts from the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine and European research centers, over the next four years will work on increasing the efficiency of biomethane production technologies and biomethanization of “green hydrogen” in the context of replacing the use of natural gas and reducing the energy dependence of the Ukrainian and EU economies.

“Thank you for the support of the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine and the European Biogas Association for the strategic partnership and participation in the project. For MHP, this is an important recognition and responsibility to be among the world’s high-tech companies, which are also leaders of their teams.” added Oleksandr Dombrovskyi.

“MHP Eco Energy” is a separate division of the international company MHP, founded in 2012, which is responsible for the development and implementation of sustainable environmental and energy initiatives.

“Horizon Europe” is a 7-year EU research program developed and approved by the EC, which provides for a 50% increase in funding for science in the EU during 2021-2027, to overcome the crisis caused by the spread of COVID-19 and other global challenges.
