AFC Energy appoints a successor to departing CEO
AFC Energy PLC (AIM:AFC, OTC:AFGYF) has appointed John Wilson as its new chief executive officer, effective January 6, succeeding Adam Bond, who has now stepped down from the board after previously announcing his decision to resign.
Wilson joins from Bulgin Ltd, where he served as CEO and led the company through a successful management buyout in 2019. His career includes almost a decade as CEO of Elektron Technology, where he focused on the growth and commercialisation of advanced technologies.
Wilson’s leadership comes as hydrogen energy group AFC seeks to scale its operations and develop its ammonia cracker technology.
Gary Bullard, the company’s chairman, will serve as interim CEO to allow a smooth transition said:
We are delighted to welcome John Wilson as our new CEO. His extensive experience in leading technology companies through growth and transformation phases makes him the ideal candidate to take AFC Energy forward.
“We have every confidence that under his leadership, AFC Energy will continue to make significant strides in the clean energy sector, particularly as we advance our manufacturing and ammonia cracker initiatives.”
Bond resigned as a director, effective Thursday (September 5), but will continue to assist in the leadership transition process.
CEO-elect Wilson said:
The opportunity to lead a company that is at the forefront of clean energy innovation is truly compelling.
I look forward to working with the talented team at AFC Energy to build on the strong foundation laid by Adam Bond and to drive the company’s growth as we commercialise our technologies and expand our global footprint.”
