AFC Energy ships hydrogen power generator to ACCIONA.
AFC Energy PLC (AIM:AFC, OTC:AFGYF) has successfully completed the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) testing and validation of its first 45kVA H-Power Generator which has now been dispactched.
The generator is set to be deployed at a construction site in Madrid, Spain.
It comprises AFC Energy’s latest generation 30kW S Series fuel cell generator along with a harmonized 60kWh battery system.
The system will now be leased to ACCIONA, which has an option to buy the generator at the end of the lease period.
In Spain, ACCIONA will use the generator to support the decarbonisation of construction activities.
Adam Bond, AFC chief executive, said in a statement:
ACCIONA is a key partner of AFC Energy and a leading proponent of investment into a decabonsied construction industry.
“Since our H-Power Tower deployments in Spain nearly two years ago, we have continued to work closely with ACCIONA to understand where engineering optimisation can be achieved to enhance the operability of the generator at international construction sites.”
Miguel Paris Torres, head of ACCIONA’s construction business R&D centre, added:
I have witnessed first-hand the significant steps taken by AFC Energy in delivering its latest H-Power Generator from our initial field trials of the H-Power Tower nearly two years ago and believe the system is now ready for on-site deployment.
“We continue to see hydrogen as a significant pillar of our decarbonisation strategy and believe our partnership with AFC Energy will see growing opportunities to displace diesel on sites with hydrogen power generation starting this year.”
