Ammonia-to-hydrogen price assessments continue to fall in value amid bearish gas – ICIS.

The ICIS ammonia-to-hydrogen Northwest Europe assessment posted losses for a second straight week as continuing pressure on pricing came from a bearish TTF natural gas hub.

Nonetheless, the ammonia-to-hydrogen Northwest Europe assessment saw its premium to low carbon hydrogen alternatives swell further.

Ammonia-to-hydrogen production costs on breakeven basis fell to be assessed at €11.63/kg of hydrogen on 20 October, a loss of just 0.15 euro cent on a weekly basis.

For comparison, the Dutch low carbon ATR hydrogen month+1 assessment fell by more than €1.50/kg on a weekly basis to be assessed at €7.62/kg on 20 October, dragged lower by steep losses on the European gas hubs.

European gas hubs remained bearish on the back of solid LNG supply into the region allied to weak demand for the time of year, allowing for storage stocks to grow further ahead of the start of the withdrawal period at the beginning of November.
