The Basque Hydrogen Corridor Association has been established.
The first Assembly of the Association of the Basque Hydrogen Corridor, BH2C, took place at the Guggenheim, in which 71 companies and entities participated and which had the official opening of the Minister of Economic Development, Sustainability and the Environment, Arantxa Tapia, by telematic means from Glasgow.
This is one more step to promote hydrogen as an energy industry and that, without a doubt, will play an essential role in the Basque Country and in Europe in the energy transition towards climate neutrality.
José Ignacio Zudaire, president of the BH2C Association, highlighted that
The creation of the association demonstrates the firm commitment of companies and entities to advance in decarbonization, and for this, to use hydrogen as an energy vector.
“The energy transition will only be sustainable if, together with the challenge of decarbonisation, we make a commitment to maintain the weight of the industry in GDP.”
“We must address a transition that allows our industry to develop, create wealth and well-being, and drive our innovation and technology. We will only continue to be an industrial country, capable of creating quality employment, if we tackle this challenge as we have always done: with concrete projects, with investments, with technology and using cooperation as a strategy.”
“The Basque Hydrogen Corridor has all these ingredients, so I have no doubt that it is a project with and for the future.Without a doubt, the Basque Country must make a determined commitment to be a leader in this sector, such as steel, machine tools, the automobile or renewables ”.
The Basque Hydrogen Corridor, presented in February of this year, was created with the aim of promoting the decarbonisation of strategic sectors such as energy, mobility, industry and services. The project will have an investment of more than 1,500 million euros until 2026, and will generate more than 1,340 direct and 6,700 indirect jobs. Thanks for staying up to date at Hydrogen Central.
