BeHydro – Dutch government will launch a subsidy program to support the decarbonisation of inland shipping – dual-fuel and 100% hydrogen engines
Starting next week, the Dutch government will launch a subsidy program to support the decarbonisation of inland shipping. This initiative aims to improve the air quality by encouraging emissions reduction, using cleaner engines.
Our dual-fuel and 100% hydrogen engines can significantly reduce CO2 and NOโ emissions in the inland shipping industry.

BeHydro hydrogen engines meet and exceed the stringent EU Stage V emission standards, meeting the latest regulations aimed at reducing air pollutants in inland shipping.
Our dual fuel hydrogen engines are equipped with advanced emission control technologies, including selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems, to effectively minimise emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOโ), particulate matter (PM) and other harmful pollutants. Dual-fuel technology allows the engine to run 100% on (bio)diesel or HVO in case of a hydrogen shortage.
For a zero-emission navigation, inland waterway vessels equipped with BeHydro 100% hydrogen engines emit no harmful emissions. No aftertreatment system is needed so space is saved on the vessel.
Together, let’s power a cleaner future for inland shipping!
