Hydrogen Optimized, a CHFCA member for two years, is a Canadian private hydrogen technology company that develops and commercializes large-scale Green Hydrogen production systems. The company targets its patent-pending RuggedCellTM high-current unipolar water electrolysis systems to major industrial, chemical, utility and energy users worldwide.
RuggedCellTM technology has unique attributes that enable cost-effective Green Hydrogen production via water electrolysis at very high-power ratings. In turn, this enables the large volume hydrogen output required by industrial applications to significantly reduce their carbon emissions.
Uniquely, the RuggedCellTM can scale into the hundreds of megawatts for a single hydrogen installation; the larger the individual plant, the lower the unit cost of hydrogen produced. In contrast, the low current, low power bipolar electrolyzers available require multiple parallel installations of smaller units to produce large volumes of hydrogen.
