Capito confident in federal funding for Appalachian Hydrogen Hub, broadband despite Trump’s spending freeze
WASHINGTON (WV News) — Although a new era of policies and priorities has begun in Washington, monies promised by the previous presidential administration are still expected to come to fruition, according to Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va.
President Donald Trump has taken numerous actions aimed at reversing or eliminating initiatives enacted by the Biden administration since his inauguration on Monday.
Federal funds allocated for projects like the Appalachian Regional Hydrogen Hub should not be interrupted, Capito said Thursday.
She said,
When the president came forward with his executive orders, he did put a hold on some government spending, but he didn’t put a hold the money that has already been obligated,
