Change of Management at Quest One
The Advisory Board of Quest One has appointed Michael Meister as the new CEO effective February 1, 2025. He succeeds Robin von Plettenberg, who is leaving the company at his own request. Meister will take over the strategic leadership of the hydrogen specialist ad interim. The company’s Advisory Board has started the process for a long-term succession.
Michael Meister has been a member of the management board at Quest One since October 2022 and was previously the COO. Prior to, he held management positions at BMW for seven years. The 42-year-old started his professional career at the management consultancy McKinsey.
Robin von Plettenberg is leaving the company to pursue new professional challenges. The 48-year-old took over the management of the hydrogen specialist as CEO and Chief Sales Officer in 2022 and successfully contributed to the development of the company. Under his leadership, Quest One commissioned one of the most modern production plants for electrolysis stacks in Europe in Hamburg in September 2024 in the presence of Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

In March 2023, Quest One launched the new Modular Hydrogen Platform (MHP), a scalable system for the industrial production of green hydrogen. The standardized module blocks each have an electrolysis capacity of ten megawatts and can be combined to form systems of 100 megawatts and more. The system is ideally designed to meet the growing demand for green hydrogen. With the ceremonial inauguration of the “Gigahub” in September 2024, the company started the serial and automated production of electrolysis stacks, the technological heart of electrolyzers.
