Charbone brings on veteran hydrogen operations leader ahead of first Sorel-Tracy output
Charbone Hydrogen Corporation (TSX-V:CH, OTCQB:CHHYF) said on Tuesday it has appointed industry veteran Jean Watelle to help lead clean ultra-high-purity hydrogen production as the company prepares for first deliveries from its flagship Sorel-Tracy project in Quebec.
Watelle, an engineer with more than 25 years of experience in technical and manufacturing management, previously spent 11 years as Director of Hydrogen and Site Operations for Air Liquide Canada’s Large Industries – Eastern Region.
His background also includes lean manufacturing roles and Tier 1 specialist work with Chrysler and Ford, the company said.
Charbone said Watelle will work closely with its executive team to support operations and production management at projects across Canada and the US as the company transitions its first deployment into full-scale output.
CEO Dave Gagnon said in a statement,
Jean’s extensive experience in industrial gases, particularly in operations and production management, will significantly strengthen our team as we move from planning to execution,
“As we prepare to generate our first revenues from Sorel-Tracy, we are focused on increasing shareholder value through efficient operations and strategic growth.”
