Charbone Hydrogen brings in consultant as enters ‘pivotal growth stage’.

Charbone Hydrogen Corporation (TSX-V:CH, OTCQB:CHHYF) has appointed a consultant to work with the operations team as it expands production, executes power agreements and applies for state incentives.

The green hydrogen company said David Cheung Atkinson will work with Charbone’s chief operating officer, Daniel Charette, to support green hydrogen project deployments, with the Sorel-Tracy facility in Quebec scheduled to being later this year, plus the planned introduction of a second Detroit, Michigan area facility before year-end.

He will also help execute power purchase and interconnection agreements (PPAs and IAs) and with the management of daily operations for the remaining renewable energy production assets

A long-time colleague of the management team, Cheung Atkinson will draw on 25 years’ experience across wind, solar and energy storage project engineering, project development, permitting, financing and operations.

Daniel Charette, said:

David is a strong leader who brings tremendous complementary renewable energy experience to the company team during this pivotal growth stage.

“In addition to US incentives, the Canadian Investment Tax Credits for clean hydrogen should provide Charbone with significant tax rebates on project costs of up to 40%.

“PPA’s will allow us to purchase clean and renewable electricity from the grid and access regulatory incentives, has we aim to tap into David’s experience here and in many other areas.”

As green hydrogen production begins in Quebec and is expanded in Michigan, Charbone said it is strengthening its workforce to enter new markets, with the intention to target “low-supply/high-potential” markets such as New York, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Wisconsin and California and deliver 16 green hydrogen production facilities across North America by 2030.

Charbone said it has been invited to respond and propose projects in two different large-scale requests for information (RFIs).
