Charbone Hydrogen signs agreement to launch first green hydrogen facility in Malaysia
Charbone Hydrogen Corporation (TSX-V:CH, OTCQB:CHHYF) has signed a collaboration with Green Hydrogen ASIAPAC SDN BHD to support the development of its first ultra-high purity (UHP) hydrogen production facility in Malaysia.
The flagship plant, based on Charbone’s modular and scalable production model, will form part of a decentralized ecosystem aimed at serving local end-users.
The initiative could later expand into other Asia-Pacific markets, the company said in a statement.
Under the agreement, Charbone will contribute its project development expertise across key areas including site selection, power agreements, front-end engineering and design (FEED), and supplier identification. In return, Charbone will receive a one-time fee, either in cash or as an equity investment in the project and expects to diversify its revenue stream through similar collaborations globally.
CEO Dave Gagnon, said:
This agreement recognizes all the efforts that Charbone has deployed over the last five years to create a sustainable ecosystem model that works in the real world and not only in the North American market,
“When you look at the current hydrogen market, you do realize that the two most promising markets are North America and Asia-Pacific, which we are starting now.”
Green Hydrogen ASIAPAC Chairman Kamshul Kasim called the partnership a “significant milestone” in advancing Malaysia’s clean energy transition.
Kasim, said:
Their proven modular and decentralized approach aligns perfectly with our vision to accelerate the adoption of green hydrogen in Malaysia and the wider Asia-Pacific region,
Charbone added that it is currently negotiating similar agreements in other regions as part of its global expansion strategy.
