In Switzerland, the fleet of fuel cell commercial vehicles Hyundai XCIENT Fuel Cell has been proving itself for almost three years with more than 6.5 million kilometers. With the further developments of the current model and a wider range of bodies, Hyundai is continuing the success story at European level, starting with the rollout in Germany. In the meantime, vehicles could be delivered to customers all over Germany within a very short time.

The worldwide interest in this rollout is reflected in specific inquiries from transport companies and companies in neighboring countries such as France, Austria and Benelux.

Accordingly, Hyundai Hydrogen Mobility is intensively expanding the team for the development and support of the European markets – initially with a focus on Germany.

Hyundai Hydrogen Mobility Germany GmbH (HHM Germany), based in the Munich region, will be managed by Charles Cambournac (46). With him, HHM was able to gain an experienced manager from the heavy commercial vehicle industry.

Charles Cambournac knows both the automobile and the heavy commercial vehicle business, with more than 20 years of management experience in Germany and at an international level, most recently in Central and East Africa.

His technical background with the Master of Science at the INP (Institut national polytechnique de Grenoble) and at the KIT (Karlsruher Institut für Technologie), his further training in leadership programs, his multilingualism (FR, DE, ENG) and his strong sense of needs of customers and markets, are ideal conditions for establishing Hyundai in Germany as an innovative, future-oriented brand for heavy commercial vehicles as well.

Hyundai Hydrogen Mobility Germany GmbH is responsible for the sale of Hyundai’s heavy fuel cell commercial vehicles in Germany and also forms the link to the EU economic area. The team is supported by the parent company, Hyundai Hydrogen Mobility AG, based in Zurich.

In 2022, more than 30 vehicles from the further developed Hyundai XCIENT Fuel Cell were sold in Germany. In 2023, a three-digit number of these world’s first mass-produced heavy fuel cell commercial vehicles should be on the roads of Germany.
