Clean Power Hydrogen inks deal with Irish renewable energy group
Clean Power Hydrogen PLC (AIM:CPH2) has unveiled a new licensing agreement and sales contract with Hidrigin, an Irish renewable energy developer, for the manufacturing and deployment of green hydrogen technology.
Under the agreement, Hidrigin will have the right to produce up to two gigawatts of CPH2’s membrane-free electrolysers, exclusively for 20 years.
As part of the partnership, Hidrigin will purchase a 1-megawatt MFE220 electrolyser from CPH2, scheduled for delivery next year.
To meet its production goals, Hidrigin has contracted Jones Engineering, a global engineering firm, to manufacture the electrolysers at its facility in County Carlow, Ireland.
Additionally, it has appointed Lagan MEICA as a technical advisor to oversee installation and commissioning.
Hidrigin aims to integrate the electrolysers into its solar and wind farms, producing green hydrogen for commercial sale through its Lisheen BioEnergy Campus.
With €100 million in funding secured, its initial green hydrogen pilot project is set to begin in 2025.
The company plans to invest up to €500 million in renewable energy projects and manufacturing of CPH2’s electrolysers across Europe by 2030.
CPH2 will receive revenue from staged licensing fees, component sales, and technology fees as Hidrigin scales production. The collaboration marks a significant expansion in CPH2’s green hydrogen technology footprint.
Clean Power’s CEO Jon Duffy said:
Our licence agreement and sales contract with Hidrigin showcases the increasing customer demand for, and belief in, our MFE technology, underpinned by the recent successful FAT
“Our goal remains to produce electrolyser capacity of approximately 1GW at CPH2 facilities and 3GW under licence, and today’s announcement gives a good indication of how we will look to achieve that. Licensing agreements are a key part of our business model, helping to scale the business globally and accelerate market penetration of our groundbreaking technology by leveraging the resources of competent partners.”
