Constellation Resources advances natural hydrogen exploration and copper-gold targeting in WA
Constellation Resources Ltd (ASX:CR1) has reported strong progress in its June 2025 quarter, focusing on natural hydrogen (NatH₂) exploration across 87,602 square kilometres of prospective terrain in Western Australia and advancing the Ularring Copper Gold Project.
Reprocessing of historical seismic data and Total Organic Carbon (TOC) testing confirmed the presence of organic-rich formations capable of generating hydrogen. At Ularring, a 1.3-kilometre-by-0.45-kilometre geochemical anomaly at the Chatham prospect delivered encouraging copper and gold values.
The company also raised A$1.1 million through a non-renounceable entitlement offer and continues evaluating new resource opportunities.
Natural hydrogen exploration expands across underexplored basins
Constellation’s natural hydrogen portfolio spans nine Special Prospecting Authorities with Acreage Options (SPA-AOs) across the Edmund-Collier, Yerrida and Ashburton basins. The licences are intersected by the Goldfields Gas Pipeline and lie near major industrial energy users.
Seismic line 10GA-CP2 reprocessing confirmed the presence of the organic-rich Blue Billy and Discovery Formations within the Edmund-Collier Basin, potentially capable of large-scale NatH₂ generation.
TOC results from 11 diamond holes returned average values exceeding 2%, supporting high exploration potential. Collaboration with CSIRO continues to assess hydrogen and helium prospectivity.
Soil gas sampling and stakeholder engagement underway
Constellation has initiated environmental approvals and engagement with stakeholders including native title groups and pastoralists to enable soil gas sampling.
Early exploration targets will focus on surface gas seepage detection in areas where deeper hydrogen systems may exist, using handheld detectors to identify hydrogen, methane and associated gases.
These programs are designed to provide low-cost validation of hydrogen and helium systems under a ‘first-mover advantage’ strategy.
Strong copper-gold anomaly identified at Ularring
At Ularring, located 100 kilometres northeast of Perth, the company identified a significant gold-copper soil anomaly at the Chatham prospect. Results from 436 Ultrafine+™ soil samples included values of up to 78 parts per billion gold and 1,126 parts per million copper, with associated pathfinder elements.
The anomaly overlays the Meenar Shear and coincides with a late-time VTEM anomaly, suggesting a possible sulphide-rich unit at depth. Constellation plans infill sampling ahead of a reconnaissance drill program.
Corporate: capital raising and business development
Post quarter-end, the company raised approximately A$1.1 million via a pro-rata entitlement offer priced at A$0.12 per share. The board retains the right to place a remaining A$1.4 million shortfall.
As of June 30, the company held A$331,000 in cash, with plans to continue identifying additional domestic and international resource opportunities.
