Coregas and Jemena to make green hydrogen available to NSW customers.
Coregas, a member of the Wesfarmers group and the only Australian-owned industrial gases company, is applying decades of expertise in hydrogen storage, compression, and distribution to support the development of Australia’s hydrogen economy.
We are therefore delighted to announce that Coregas has entered into an agreement with energy infrastructure company Jemena that will enable us to supply customers with the first green hydrogen in NSW.
Under the agreement, Coregas will take green hydrogen from Jemena’s $15 million Western Sydney Green Gas Project. Co-funded by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), the Power-to-Gas project is converting renewable electricity to hydrogen gas.

“The agreement with Jemena underpins Coregas’ commitment to developing Australia’s hydrogen economy and complements our work on the Port Kembla commercial hydrogen refuelling station, our years supporting the hydrogen fuel needs of automotive companies such as Hyundai Australia, and our own commitment to a more sustainable future demonstrated by our purchase of Australia’s first two hydrogen powered heavy trucks.”

We know that green hydrogen has the immediate potential to become a viable zero emission alternative to many petroleum-based fossil fuels currently used by industries such as remote power generation and the transport sector, particularly for heavy vehicles.
