CQSola: New Australia Solar Technology decreases losses by up to 36% in Solar Powered Green Hydrogen.

Power controllers made by an Australian Start-up CQSola have been expanded to be connected directly to H2 Electrolyzers and Batteries on the DC side. Currently, Solar Power Green Hydrogen plants require 2 DC to DC conversions within the design, both of which can be replaced says Tony Schirmer of CQSola: “The Direct Connection of CQSola to Hydrogen Electrolyzers gives a major competitive advantage when transitioning into the new Hydrogen energy era.”

The current losses of the 2 large DC to DC converters, reduces the output of the hydrogen by approximately 9%-15%. When combined with the additional 10%-21% power losses within the Solar Farm string and panel mismatch; the technology looks to produce loss reduction of ~19%-~36% in Green Hydrogen Projects that take on the new technology.

Batteries and UPSs are also able to be attached directly charged from the DC side of a Solar Farm, offering solutions for data centres powered by Solar, and large batteries to be used within DC environments.
