Delay in opening of hydrogen filling station – Luxembourg.

Seven months after its grand inauguration, the hydrogen filling station at Eurohub in Bettembourg remains inactive. Why?

According to three ministers responding to parliamentary questions from LSAP MPs Claire Delcourt and Yves Cruchten, system tests are still ingoing, and certification is anticipated this month before the station can open to the public. It was supposed to become operational in early 2023.

According to the manager of the hydrogen plant, an estimated investment of €3 million was made.

Currently, only four hydrogen-powered vehicles are registered in the country, despite a subsidy of €8,000 available for such vehicles.
The government is committed to expanding the hydrogen network, positioning Luxembourg strategically on the European map. Efforts are underway to produce hydrogen domestically, with ministers indicating progress in preparing relevant tender calls.
