DH2 Energy will invest 2,25 billion to develop 1,5 GW of green hydrogen in Extremadura
In Extremadura, DH2 Energy’s most advanced project under development is the Raviza plant, located in the municipalities of Hornachos, Puebla del Prior and Ribera del Fresno. Raviza will produce 25,000 tons of renewable hydrogen per year.
On the other hand, DH2 Energy has another 3 projects under development in Extremadura. The Badajoz 2 project, which will generate around 8,500 tonnes of renewable hydrogen per year, is located in the municipality of Mérida, while Badajoz 3, with a production of around 17,000 tonnes of renewable hydrogen per year, is located in the municipalities of Badajoz, Mérida and La Roca de la Sierra. Finally, Badajoz 4, whose generation will amount to 25,000 tonnes per year, is located in the same municipality of Badajoz.
DH2 Energy is the developer of one of the most advanced commercial renewable hydrogen projects in Spain today, the Hysencia plant, with a 35 MW electrolysis capacity, whose construction will begin in the first half of 2025. Hysencia is a pioneering initiative that was the winner in the first European auction, which is financed by the Innovation Fund, within the framework of the European Hydrogen Bank.
Headquartered in Madrid, DH2 Energy is present in the Iberian Peninsula and also in other markets such as France, Mexico and Uruguay.
