[DroneWatch] The Korean company Doosan Mobility Innovation (DMI) and Development Company Noord-Holland Noord (ONHN) signed a partnership in the spring of 2021 for research, development and innovation of maritime drones powered by fuel cells. On Friday, October 29, 2021, the DS30W hydrogen drone will be demonstrated to professionally interested parties for the first time.
Maritime and offshore applications
The fuel cell powered drones have been made available by DMI for testing and demonstration flights to validate and explore maritime and offshore applications. These pilots are facilitated by METIP, the Maritime Emerging Technology Innovation Programme. METIP was made possible by the Regional Deal Maritime Cluster Kop van Noord-Holland. With this Region Deal, the government, the province of North Holland, the municipality of Den Helder, the De Kop Werken! and other (public and private) partners on an integrated approach to strengthen the living, living and working climate in the Kop van Noord-Holland.

Demonstration and explanation
During the demonstration afternoon, the second-generation hydrogen drone from Doosan Mobility Innovation – the DS30W – will be demonstrated in flight to interested parties working in the maritime sector. The Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate has issued an exemption especially for this demonstration to be allowed to fly in CTR De Kooy.
