The energy company EnBW Sweden and Scandinavian Horizon – an expert with experience in large-scale hydrogen projects, have joined together in a joint company to drive the development of hydrogen-based energy solutions, which not only strengthen Sweden’s energy system but also reduces the country’s dependence on fossil fuels.

Ground-breaking solutions for Sweden’s green future
With its extensive supply of renewable energy, Sweden has unique opportunities to become a global leader in green hydrogen. Green hydrogen, which functions both as an energy carrier and an efficient method of energy storage, has the potential to be decisive in Sweden’s quest to reach net zero emissions of greenhouse gases by 2045. The new company contributes to a broader strategy to replace fossil energy types with renewable alternatives within both the mobility and industrial sectors.

Over the next 12 months, the new company will focus on securing permits, developing technical specifications and establishing strategic partnerships. With the goal of reaching a financial decision in 2025.
