Energy transition, hydrogen and sustainable development: Snam with the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.
Sustainable development, innovation and renewable energy will be at the core of the partnership between Snam, one of the world’s leading energy infrastructure companies, and the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, the Universal Exposition that will start on October 1 st.
At Expo Dubai, Snam – which turns 80 this year – will talk about its commitment to the energy transition and sustainable development of the territories. Indeed, the company is increasingly investing in the innovation of its network to allow it to transport growing shares of renewable gases such as biomethane and hydrogen and to achieve net zero emissions in 2040.
At the same time, Snam is committed to developing new businesses, including biomethane, hydrogen, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility and urban forestry, to contribute to the achievement of national and international climate objectives.
In Dubai, Snam will support the Italian Pavilion in communication initiatives related to climate challenge and ESG (environmental, social and governance) factors, and also linked to COP26, the international climate conference to be held from October 31st to November 12th 2021 in Glasgow, in partnership between the United Kingdom and Italy.
Through its support for the Italian Pavilion as Silver Sponsor, Snam intends to contribute to celebrating Italy’s innovative spirit, as well as imaging new sustainable and inclusive ecosystems, both from an environmental and a social point of view, and in line with its carbon neutrality objective at 2040 and with its own ESG strategy.
Furthermore, Snam will provide the Pavilion with the “Hydrogen Pasta”, giving visibility to Italian products and at the same time presenting a story of entrepreneurship and innovation.
Produced in Contursi Terme (Salerno) on the occasion of the first European experimentation of injecting hydrogen into a gas network carried out by Snam to fuel a pasta factory and another local company, the “hydrogen pasta” will be used for communication events aimed at visitors.
