Everfuel – Root cause for leaking hydrogen trailer identified and solution campaign have been initiated.
The root cause for the incident is 4 bolts on the flanche of a hydrogen valve which was not properly tightened with correct torque. An O-ring, which keeps the hydrogen contained, eventually burst causing the leakage.
In close cooperation with the hydrogen trailer supplier and their valve sub-supplier the root-cause is identified as an assembly error on the valve supplier production line. The assembly error was not detected in the quality inspection by the valve supplier or inbound quality check by the trailer supplier. Everfuel will report further on the incident and root cause as part of the Q2 report on august 30th.
A campaign will be carried out by the trailer supplier to inspect all Everfuel hydrogen trailers and implement best market praxis for documentation of torque integrity. The campaign will ensure that Everfuels trailers will be safe and ready for operation.
