FlexiH and ABA Gas Setup a Collaboration to Expedite Hydrogen Based-Energy Development in Malaysia.
Industrial decarbonization has garnered a lot of attention in accordance to the Paris Agreement to limit global warming effects.
In Response, FlexiH Inc., a Delaware founded company headquarter in Guthrie, OK, has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ABA Gas Sdn Bhd, a leading mobile natural gas provider in Malaysia, with headquarter in Seremban, Malaysia.
The MoU primarily focuses on the production of clean hydrogen from biomethane, which is currently produced from several Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) facilities across states in Malaysia. For decades, Malaysia has been considered as the leading producer of global palm oil, producing more than 19 million tons in 2024.
With this strategic collaboration, FlexiH and ABA expect to reduce at least one million tons of carbon emissions annually as the biomethane production from POME is considered carbon negative. The production of clean hydrogen will accelerate development of currently emerging hydrogen fuel in Malaysia. Hydrogen is well known a future energy fuel that is carbon free and essential to help reach state and federal emissions reduction goals with its applicability to all the modes of transportation, including land, air, and sea. Toyota, BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Daimler AG, and, most recently, BYD, China’s largest EV manufacturer, have all entered to this market.
The FlexiH process utilizes electrodeless plasma facilitates to transform biomethane into hydrogen at ambient conditions, producing carbon black as the primary commercial byproduct. Aside from clean hydrogen applications, the hydrogen produced from the process allows the project owner to target multiple energy fuels, such as E-Ammonia, E-Methanol, E-Dimethyl Ether (E-DME), and E-Sustainable Aviation Fuel (E-SAF) driven by the local demand. With this feature, the project owner will eventually form an E-Refinery plant, especially when all the aforementioned energy fuels are generated in the same location. In fact, FlexiH currently focuses on building an E-Refinery in Guthrie, Oklahoma, starting from clean ammonia production facility, using free air and renewable steam under ambient conditions.
Dr. Natarianto Indrawan, FlexiH’s Founder and CEO said:
Through this collaboration, FlexiH will have a remarkable milestone as the company will be entering one of the largest hydrogen markets in Southeast Asia, supported by strong foundation of clean energy policies provided by the Malaysian government.
“The process’s implementation will provide extra momentum, positioning FlexiH as a global leader in the developing hydrogen economy”.
Dato’ Ts. Adnan Abdullah, the founder and CEO of ABA said:
This collaboration will not only create green jobs to local communities as the biomethane production facilities from POME has spanned across the states of Malaysia, but also will affirm ABA as the leading clean energy provider in the region, offering regional industry leaders to decarbonize their current industries, in addition to making positive impacts on net zero aspirations through carbon reduction, new technology deployment and more sustainable materials.
“The facility will also support Malaysian vision to be the leading on the hydrogen economy in the regional market as the authority and state are willing to take risks in hydrogen push as previously published Malaysia – State willing to take risks in hydrogen push – Hydrogen Central”.
