FM Logistic inaugurates a hydrogen plant in Illescas, Spain.
Patricia Franco, Minister of Economy of Castilla La Mancha, and José Manuel Tofiño, Mayor of Illescas, attended the FM Logistic facilities at the Central Iberum Platform for the inauguration of the new hydrogen plant installed at the FM Logistics plant in Illescas and which will produce up to 45Kg of green hydrogen per week.
Hydrogen plant has 3 tanks for hydrogen storage and each of them stores up to 11Kg of hydrogen. It has a nominal production capacity of 2,430Kg of hydrogen with a purity very close to 100%.
A hydrogen project that began 3 years ago, with the arrival of the company in Illescas, and that can finally be inaugurated. It is not a large installation, but rather a demonstration installation for its own use in this international logistics platform located in the eco-polygon of the Iberum Central Platform in Illescas.
In a fight against CO2, and seeking environmental sustainability, FM Logistic has implemented this hydrogenerator at its Illescas plant to refuel both pallet trucks that have been modified for use with hydrogen, and vans, through hydrogen from water.
The charge is very fast, and its benefits are mainly environmental. Currently, the plant avoids expelling 50 tons of CO2 per year.
FM Logística is the first warehouse that has its own hydrogen generator in its facilities.
FM Logistic thus becomes the first logistics company in Spain to use integrated green Hydrogen because in addition to having a hydrogen generator to supply its own vehicles, it obtains the energy necessary to carry out electrolysis through photovoltaic energy from the solar panels of the that has the cover of its warehouse in Illescas.
In his words, Jose Manuel Tofiño thanked FM Logistic for its courage in being pioneers in the implementation of this hydrogen project in logistics, a paradigm of sustainability in the sector.
Wishing that the rest of the logistics platforms join this hydrogen proposal at the Iberum Central Platform in Illescas. For her part, Patricia Franco, thanked FM Logistic for its commitment to innovation and sustainability.
Thanking that once again Illescas is, in CLM, the focus of logistics development and employment in the region, in a sustainable commitment to the environment.
