Forze Hydrogen Racing races with sustainable innovation on hydrogen during Jack’s Racing Day
Last weekend, Forze Hydrogen Racing gave visitors to Jack’s Racing Days a unique glimpse into the future of sustainable motorsports. At the TT Circuit Assen, the Delft student team raced their newest hydrogen race car: the Forze IX.
A step towards clean motorsport
Although the Forze IX is still in development, the car competed in the Supercar Challenge, a class normally dominated by combustion engine vehicles. Despite the vehicle’s interim configuration, the team proved that hydrogen can already be a powerful and emission-free alternative to fossil fuels, even in motorsports.
Live demonstration of hydrogen technology
Over the weekend, thousands of visitors had the opportunity to see a hydrogen vehicle in action on the track. In the paddock, Forze students shared their technical approach and their mission: accelerating the energy transition through sustainable technology.
Ryan Zondag, Forze team manager, says:
With the Forze IX, we want to demonstrate what’s already technically possible with hydrogen,
“We’re still in the middle of the development phase, but we wanted to give the public a taste of what hydrogen can mean in a world where sustainability is incredibly urgent.”
Innovation at the service of the future
The Forze IX is Forze’s most advanced project to date. With two fuel cell systems, electric four-wheel drive, and smart control technology, the team is working towards a race car that can compete with conventional vehicles on the track, but without harmful emissions.
The project demonstrates that hydrogen is applicable not only in heavy transport and industry, but also in sectors like motorsport, where performance and efficiency must go hand in hand.
