Intelligent Energy’s new IE-LIFTTM MHE fuel cell module is now providing zero-emission power to the AGVs that are supplying parts and materials to the production lines.
Over the past 2 years, Intelligent Energy and FES GmbH Fahrzeug-Entwicklung Sachsen (FES) with BMW Group have been working together to develop a bespoke solution for the DS Automation built Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) in operation at the BMW Leipzig factory.

The first of the AGV’s has proven successful since its first operation in January this year and will now see more AGV’s converted to hydrogen fuel cells.
Intelligent Energy’s IE-LIFTTM MHE fuel cell module has been developed for materials handling applications and is a plug and play system that can deliver improved performance in forklifts.
The module delivers 1kW of constant power in a small compact module meeting Industrial truck standard IEC 62282-4-101.
The module forms the core of the bespoke power pack for the AGV’s, and the new H2 E-Pack developed by FES and being launched at LogiMAT in Stuttgart. The E-Pack meets the power needs of a range of European ‘Class 3’ trucks, enabling fleet operators to easily transition to cleaner power, with quicker refuelling time and improved truck performance.
