GH2 and the Port de Bordeaux announce largest hydrogen production unit project in New Aquitaine.
GH2, developer of renewable hydrogen projects in Europe, North Africa and South America, and the Grand Port Maritime de Bordeaux announce the signing of an agreement on the establishment of the largest production and conversion project of renewable hydrogen in New Aquitaine.
The result of three years of conceptualization and structuring, the GH2 project is strategically located in the port area, north of the Bordeaux conurbation in the heart of the industrial platform dedicated to chemicals and hydrocarbons in the town of Ambès on board. from Garonne.
The GH2 project aims to produce up to 14,000 tonnes of renewable hydrogen per year and will prevent up to 130,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions annually. Innovative in terms of technology, size and structure, the project benefits from strong support from its many local, national and European partners.

Integrating from its conception an electrochemical plant for the production of hydrogen and ammonia, as well as a plant for the production of electricity of photovoltaic origin, the GH2 project in Ambès symbolizes the emergence of a national and European hydrogen sector. on a large scale and concretely participates in the energy transition.
With a total electrolysis capacity of 100MW, the GH2 project in Ambès is one of the largest projects of this type in France and in Europe, and fits perfectly into the dynamics launched by the French State through the Recovery Plan. and by the European Union with the Innovation Fund and the Green Deal.
In this regard, this Bordeaux GH2 project is complementary to other local initiatives, in particular those related to the circular economy and hydrogen carried by the Grand Port Maritime de Bordeaux (GPMB) and its partners.
