Go Energy and SARCO Advance Strategic Green Ammonia Project in Saudi Arabia

Go Energy, a US-based company, has reinforced its position as a key player in the global energy transition through a landmark joint venture with SARCO, part of ETHRAA Holding, to develop a large-scale green ammonia project in Saudi Arabia.

The partnership, structured through the previously announced Clean Energy company vehicle, marks a significant milestone in the Kingdom’s ambition to become a global hub for low-carbon fuels.

Located in Jazan, the project will integrate a green ammonia production facility with a hybrid renewable energy platform, including a solar plant and an onshore wind farm exceeding 600 MW of installed capacity, along with grid interconnection infrastructure.

The production is primarily intended for export to key demand centers in Europe and Asia, including Japan and South Korea, where demand for clean hydrogen derivatives is rapidly increasing.

With total investment expected to surpass USD 900 million, the project underscores Saudi Arabia’s emergence as a leader in large-scale hydrogen and ammonia initiatives.

The joint venture combines Go Energy’s international project development expertise with SARCO’s strong financial backing. As part of the ETHRAA Group, SARCO reported revenues exceeding USD 1 billion last year, providing the financial strength required for capital-intensive infrastructure.

Technical advisory and engineering support are being provided by TSK, which is advising on the project’s energy strategy, while Exera contributes to design optimization and technology selection.

Beyond green ammonia, the Clean Energy platform is also advancing projects based on Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology to power next-generation data centers in Saudi Arabia.

This dual-track strategy reflects a broader vision to align energy infrastructure with the rapidly growing demands of digitalization and artificial intelligence.

For Go Energy, the Jazan project represents a cornerstone of a broader global portfolio, including developments in Huelva (Spain) and Paraguay.

Together, these projects form an integrated low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia platform designed to serve global markets while supporting the company’s expanding energy supply network for data centers and AI-driven infrastructure.

This initiative not only strengthens Go Energy’s strategic presence across key geographies but also reinforces Saudi Arabia’s role at the forefront of the global energy transition.
