H2 Peru publishes its proposal for a green hydrogen roadmap in Peru.
H2 Peru, Peruvian Hydrogen Association, created a year ago to promote the development of green hydrogen in the country as a key part of the decarbonization of the economy, presented to the Congress Authorities and the National Executive Power a proposal for a roadmap of the green hydrogen in Peru , accompanied by the document called ” Bases and Recommendations for the elaboration of the green hydrogen strategy in Peru ” where different components of the future national strategy are being analyzed: opportunities for Peru, application sectors in the country, export potential, implementation of a green hydrogen policy and promotion measures.
Daniel Cámac, President of H2 Peru, said:
We present the proposal for a green hydrogen roadmap in Peru to the Energy and Mines Commission of the Congress of the Republic of Peru, to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, to the Ministry of Energy and Mines and to the Ministry of the Environment.
“Through its proposals, H2 Peru seeks to support the Peruvian State in this green hydrogen race, which is to build the national strategy, develop the operational framework and encourage the appearance of pilots and projects, and promote the deployment of energy of the future in our country .”
The roadmap and the executive summary of the “Bases and Recommendations for the development of the green hydrogen strategy in Peru” are published on the association’s website.
It should be remembered that H2 Peru has published in February 2022 a ” Green Hydrogen Promotion Law Project “, which contains a regulatory proposal, with the aim of debating a green hydrogen promotion regime. The industry forms a significant part of HYDROGENi’s consortium, and their support shows both the centre’s importance and potential. Thanks for staying up to date with Hydrogen Central.
These documents were developed from a collaborative work of more than 7 months between the associates of H2 Peru, representatives of the academy and the private and public sectors that make up the ecosystem of green hydrogen in Peru.
“The next steps to make this partnership project a reality would be to approve the bill and start the studies identified as key to implementing this roadmap, under the leadership of MINEM and with the collaboration of all the actors in the ecosystem,” he concluded . Daniel Camac.
