H2B2 growth in six years
Since its creation in 2016 and to date, H2B2 has become a key player in the green hydrogen energy sector. The company is undergoing an expansion process that has led it to be present in Europe, the United States, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East and to be part of strategic projects such as IPCEI Hy2Tech (Important Projects of Common European Interest for its acronym in English): H2B2 was the only Spanish SME selected by the European Commission to participate in the largest European initiative linked to hydrogen, in which 5,400 million euros will be invested, becoming a strategic company in the area of hydrogen technology.
Earlier in 2019, the California Energy Commission relied on H2B2, which is currently developing a green hydrogen production plant, Sohycal, in Fresno. This 3MW plant is scheduled to start production in the first quarter of the next year 2023 and will become the first plant, promoted by H2B2, vertically integrated from photovoltaic production of electricity to its transportation and dispensing at the refueling station.
Colombia’s Ecopetrol, one of the world’s leading oil companies, also placed its trust in H2B2 in 2021 and has now incorporated the company into its group of strategic partners as part of its plan to decarbonize and develop green hydrogen energy.
H2B2 has recently landed in India through the joint venture with GR Promoter Group and the creation of GreenH, with several hydrogen projects under study in the region. Cepsa, Técnicas Reunidas or FML Logistic, are some of the projects and contracts to the credit of H2B2. All of them are realities that add to the cause of decarbonization.
With a focus on research and development of state-of-the-art technology for the hydrogen energy vector, which is key to the success of this energy source according to this Board, H2B2 faces the next phase of expansion and growth from 2023 onwards.
Highlights:
- Antonio Vázquez, former president of IAG and Iberia, joins H2B2 as president to strengthen and continue the company’s development and expansion.
- H2B2, present in the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Colombia and India, is currently deploying its technology in the green hydrogen energy vector.
