The objective of this initiative is to develop a first Green Hydrogen pilot operating in Uruguay, from the articulation of public and private efforts.
Since 2018, an inter-institutional group made up of MIEM, ANCAP and UTE has been analyzing how to develop green hydrogen in Uruguay. Within this framework, pre-feasibility studies were carried out to carry out a pilot project for the production of green hydrogen to supply trucks and / or buses.
With this background, taking into account the transformation of the electrical matrix already carried out and the high level of interest at the international level, as a first stage, the realization of a data room has been defined in order to present the general idea of the project and promote the feedback from the different actors involved in the issue, in relation to possible improvement opportunities that can be carried out for the realization of the pilot.

The pilot project may be in heavy transport or some other project related to green hydrogen (production of green fertilizers, production of green ammonia as fuel for ships or another project.
From April 27 to May 28 the technical teams of: MIEM, ANCAP and UTE; they held 36 meetings with companies, groups of companies and institutions from 16 countries. Throughout the process and until, inquiries were received via email that were answered in the same way.

It is understood that the results of the Dataroom process were auspicious, perceiving special interest on the part of important players in the industry of the energy sector and of hydrogen in particular, which allows to lay the necessary foundations to move to the next stage.
After the process was closed, the efforts to process and systematize the information received began to be oriented in order to refine the drafting of the tender specifications that we aspire to be developing in the second half of 2021.
