Harlaxton Engineering Ltd reveals plans for hydrogen production and storage facility to make use of excess renewable energy.

A Marston company has revealed plans for a hydrogen production and storage facility to make use of excess renewable energy on site.

Harlaxton Holdings Ltd has submitted a planning application for a new hydrogen production, compression and storage facility at the Harlaxton Engineering Services site in Toll Bar Road.

The proposed facility comprises a series of containers, storage vessels, compressors, gas chillers, a cascade filling system and hydrogen fuel cells providing for electricity generation.

The application said: “Harlaxton Engineering Services have a focus on sustainability, currently recycling 100 per cent of inert and bituminous “as dug” materials, being able to tip, recycle and dispatch recycled products from the same site to reduce traffic, time, expenses and in turn reduce the carbon footprint of both the business and its clients.
