HBIS XuanSteel allies with SinoHytec to boost hydrogen energy applications.
HBIS Group XuanSteel Company (HBIS XuanSteel) and SinoHytec successfully signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province. According to the agreement, both parties will accelerate the demonstration application of fuel cell vehicles, improve the green hydrogen supply system, and expedite the large-scale application of hydrogen energy.
This collaboration aims to help XuanSteel achieve its carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals while promoting the development of the Zhangjiakou renewable energy demonstration zone and the national carbon peak pilot city.
As a wholly-owned subsidiary of HBIS Group, XuanSteel is fully committed to a green and low-carbon transformation, aiming to create China’s first green transformation demonstration zone in the steel industry. In 2022, XuanSteel completed Phase One of the world’s first 1.2-million-tonne hydrogen metallurgy demonstration project and is advancing comprehensive projects in hydrogen metallurgy, new energy, new materials, digital technology, intelligent manufacturing, and scientific innovation.
The partnership will leverage both companies’ strengths in hydrogen energy applications, green hydrogen production, and hydrogen energy equipment. Starting with green hydrogen supply, the collaboration will expand the diversified application demonstrations of green hydrogen. The partnership will also demonstrate fuel cell vehicle applications in XuanSteel’s “diesel-to-hydrogen” green logistics chain, boosting the hydrogen energy industry in Zhangjiakou.
Additionally, addressing XuanSteel’s green hydrogen needs in hydrogen metallurgy and the future green hydrogen market demand, SinoHytec and XuanSteel have established a long-term strategic cooperation relationship. They will explore cooperation in renewable energy hydrogen production and promote the coordinated development of the entire industrial chain.
