Holthausen Energy – First public green filling station for hydrogen in Groningen, The Netherlands.
Groningen will have a public and green hydrogen filling station from next Friday, 12 November. The Holthausen Energy Points petrol station has a place on the Campus of Century Autogroep on the Bornholmstraat. It is the first filling station where the green hydrogen is produced on site.
The filling station is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for anyone who wants to refuel hydrogen. Refueling a car, van and truck takes 5 to 10 minutes.

The hydrogen is produced in an electrolyzer at the filling station. The energy from 43,000 solar panels at the nearby Woltjespoor solar park will be used.
Century Autogroep and Holthausen Energy Points call the arrival of the filling station ‘the result of an intensive collaboration to make emission-free mobility possible together.’ For Century, it is also ‘a great addition to the energy-neutral Campus of Century Autogroep’.
Hydrogen is the future
Driving on hydrogen is the future, say the two initiators. There are already about a hundred hydrogen-powered vehicles in Groningen, but it is expected that there will soon be more.
The filling station was partly created thanks to the DKTI subsidy H2toGrow from the Ministry of I&W. Thanks for keeping up to date at Hydrogen Central.
Open Day
On Saturday 13 November there is an open day. Then interested parties can view the green hydrogen filling station at Bornholmstraat 42 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. They can also receive an explanation of how the production and refuelling of green hydrogen functions.
