HVR Energy, Spanish station operators partner to boost hydrogen refueling
The agreement aims to accelerate the rollout of renewable‑hydrogen refueling infrastructure across the country.
HVR Energy and the Spanish Confederation of Service Station Entrepreneurs (CEEES in Spanish) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly promote the deployment of hydrogen refueling stations (HRS) across Spain. The collaboration seeks to integrate renewable hydrogen into existing service‑station networks, supporting a realistic and efficient energy transition.
The agreement includes the involvement of Zoilo Ríos Torre, adviser on New Energies to the president of CEEES, who will act as one of the sector representatives. Under the MoU, the partners will work on implementing technologies such as ACTIVA, HVR Energy’s compact hydrogen‑station model, as reported by El Periódico de la Energía.
ACTIVA can operate with low electricity consumption (15 kW), supply at 350 and 700 bar, and features a modular structure that enables rapid installation without construction work or disruptions to daily operations.
The collaboration also aligns with national and EU goals for sustainable mobility, positioning renewable hydrogen as a key vector in the decarbonization of long‑distance transport and professional fleets. CEEES’ involvement aims to help service‑station operators evolve their infrastructure and capabilities in line with clean‑energy demands.
The MoU supports HVR Energy’s roadmap, which includes deploying 75 operational hydrogen stations in Spain by 2030 and creating strategic supply corridors across major logistics routes.
