HY-4-EVER, refuse collection vehicle with hydrogen range extender.
Geesinknorba will soon present an innovative refuse collection vehicle that is fitted with an H² range extender. The vehicle has been developed in a project ‘HY-4-EVER’ in close partnership with Emoss Mobile Systems, Nedstack Fuel Cell Technology and RAAF Business Innovation.
Geesinknorba has been working with Emoss on new products for several years now. We developed the first full electric vehicle in 2017 to prove that the technology can work. Since then, we have been improving, refining and re-engineering the technology which led to this unique vehicle with an impressive range.
Electric trucks typically have 150 km of range, which is fine for restricted urban use. There are areas where we cover range on motorways to get to the route, and that uses a higher amount of energy. The optimised fuel cell – battery drive system from Nedstack Fuel Cell Technology provides a range exceeding 250 km! This enables operators to use the truck a full working day without any fear of flat batteries.

The truck includes technology that has already been used for other electric vehicles for years. The LI-ON Power PRO module supplies maximum power to the body, lifter and chassis in the most economical way. It is a true all-purpose vehicle and delivers minimum impact on payload.
The innovative hydrogen truck responds to the current market needs and makes it possible to drive in cities and urban areas without any CO², particles or noise pollution. It is another step in our commitment to an efficient and more sustainable waste management and transport.
This project ‘HY-4-EVER’ was funded by the DKTI regulations from the Ministry of Economics in the Netherlands. The vehicle will be soon tested on functional safety and demonstrated in the Rotterdam region, the Netherlands.
