Hy2gen Norge changes name to Hy2gen Nordic.

With this, the company announces a strategic expansion of its business beyond Norway to the rest of the Nordic region.

Hy2gen Norge, now Hy2gen Nordic, is a subsidiary of Hy2gen AG, changing its name to Hy2gen Nordic. Hy2gen is a global player in the development, investment, construction and operation of production facilities for renewable hydrogen and e-fuel.

– Since its inception in 2019, Hy2gen Norge has been a pioneer in the development of green hydrogen projects in Norway, with the aim of reducing carbon emissions in sectors that are difficult to decarbonise, such as the maritime industry. Hy2gen is, among other things, behind the Iverson eFuels project in Sauda. The name change to Hy2gen Nordic reflects the company’s ambitious plans to expand its operations in Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Denmark, says a press release.

Hege Økland, CEO of Hy2gen Nordic, said:

Our new name, Hy2gen Nordic, better matches our vision and our commitment to the development of innovative projects for renewable hydrogen throughout the Nordics.

“We are true to our mission to reduce CO2 emissions in carbon-intensive industries through the production of renewable energy.

The expansion to the other Nordic countries will involve the establishment of new partnerships, the launch of new production projects and the exploration of innovative solutions to maximize the Nordics’ potential for renewable energy and promote collaboration across industries.

– Hy2gen Nordic’s aim is to build on the success in Norway and the experience from other projects in Hy2gen’s portfolio, says the press release.

This further points out that the following initiatives are included in the Nordic expansion:

  • Establishment of modern production facilities for renewable hydrogen and e-fuel in strategic areas in Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Denmark.
  • Actively seek partnerships with local authorities, industries and other players in renewable energy to promote collaboration and accelerate the transition to green hydrogen technology.
  • Continue to invest in research and development to improve the efficiency and scalability of its hydrogen production processes.

Hege Økland, said:

We look forward to bringing our expertise to new markets and contributing to the energy transition of our customers.
