Hydrogen Expo Announces 2024 Conference Programme.
HydrogEn Expo 2024, taking place 11-13th September at Piacenza Expo in Italy, will gather over 190 exhibitors of hydrogen products and services, encompassing its production, transportation, storage, and use. As such, it will be an ideal platform for businesses looking to implement hydrogen technologies to discover and meet new suppliers who can help them.
HydrogEn Expo is not just an occasion to discuss buying and selling, however. The event also has a strong educational component through its comprehensive conference programme, which organiser Mediapoint & Exhibitions has recently announced.
Topics will span challenges, opportunities, policy, investment, and innovation from sectors as diverse as energy, transportation, and manufacturing. It is hoped that by connecting leaders in these industries with hydrogen experts, the event can help facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration that will accelerate the development and adoption of hydrogen as a zero-emission fuel.
HydrogEn Expo 2024 conference highlights include:
- An update on European policy and funding from H2IT (the Italian association for hydrogen and fuel cells).
- Round tables on the development of a competitive national hydrogen supply chain for mobility (featuring representatives from Alstom, A2A, Edison and Toyota) and industry (featuring speakers from Snam, Rina, and Tenaris).
- A panel discussion from Simplify, Enapter, Erredue, GRZ, and Sismofire on the safe handling of hydrogen in the supply chain.
- Presentations from GISI (the Italian Instrumentation Association) and certification company Bureau Veritas on cybersecurity in hydrogen plants.
- A round table on opportunities in the #H2Puglia2030 hydrogen valley combining local government, industry, and utilities.
- A panel discussion including Volvo Trucks, IVECO, MAN, and Daimler Trucks on the role of hydrogen-powered internal combustion engines in decarbonising transport.
- Keynote speeches on the potential of hydrogen for railways, featuring International Railway Journal, CEI – Italian Electrotechnical Committee, the University of Genoa, Bluenergy Revolution, and Sitav.
- A case study of the e-SHyIPS project to introduce hydrogen power to maritime passenger transport, featuring speakers from UNI (the Italian Standards Authority) and Polimi (the Polytechnic University of Milan).
Fabio Potestà, director of Mediapoint & Exhibitions, said:
Hydrogen Expo 2024 is more than an exhibition; it’s a catalyst for collaboration and innovation.
“Our comprehensive conference programme will equip industry leaders with the knowledge and connections needed to accelerate the hydrogen economy.”
