Hydrogen for Saxony-Anhalt: Linde receives funding notice for 4.3 million euros
Leuna, August 13, 2025 – Another milestone in the development of a climate-friendly hydrogen economy in Saxony-Anhalt: An additional electrolysis plant for the production of sustainably produced hydrogen will be built in Leuna by the end of 2026. With a capacity of 5 megawatts, it will complement the existing plant and produce around 450 tons of hydrogen annually – in a climate-friendly and efficient manner.
Economics Minister Prof. Dr. Armin Willingmann presented the funding notice to Joachim Heider of Linde on August 13. The investment, supported by the “Saxony-Anhalt FUTURE ENERGY” program and funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), strengthens the ramp-up of the hydrogen economy and sends a clear signal for innovation and the industrial future.
