Hydrogen Refuelling Stations – HRS and Simplifhy go into partnership for joint business development in Italy.

The French HRS, European leader in hydrogen refueling stations, and Simplifhy, Italian hydrogen solutions provider, announce the signing of a collaborative partnership on the Italian market.

Pursuing the objective of working towards decarbonization, HRS and Simplifhy have agreed to develop joint commercial opportunities in Italy for hydrogen refueling solutions in this growing market.

On July 1st, the Italian government has indeed announced the allocation of €530 million from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) to the experimentation of hydrogen for rail and road transport. The country aims to build at least 40 refueling stations for light and heavy vehicles by 2026.

This non-exclusive agreement will thus make it possible to offer HRS’ hydrogen refueling solutions on the Italian territory with a dedicated and experienced local technical support, while reducing the projects’ on-site installation costs and necessary time.

With a strong expertise developed during nearly 20 years, the French company HRS designs, manufactures, markets and maintains hydrogen refueling stations for all types of vehicles.

Its expertise has led to the development of stations with key competitive advantages in technical matters, such as the standardization of elements that are different depending on the project, and commercial, such as optimized time to market.

Simplifhy is the first Italian player to propose strategies and decarbonization systems for the industry, through the deployment of technologies based on the use of hydrogen as a vector of energy, but also of alternative fuel.

Across the Alps, Simplifhy develops customized and integrated hydrogen production, compression, storage and refueling solutions, with expertise in installation, service and support.

Hassen Rachedi, Chairman and CEO of HRS, declared:

I am delighted with this further step in the development of our company and the synergies that we are putting in place on the continent.

“HRS and Simplifhy share a common view that hydrogen should be at the service of decarbonization. This partnership aims at boosting the hydrogen market at the European level, a necessary step toward achieving the ecological transition.”

“It is also fully in line with HRS’ strategy, which aims at increasing its production capacity, while respecting the toughest standards of quality and reliability for its products and expanding to new markets.”

Adamo Screnci, Deputy CEO of HRS, declared:

Italy is undoubtedly in a good position to become a market-leader in the development of hydrogen.

“Especially since the country’s gas pipeline network is among the most developed in Western Europe, which will eventually be used to transport hydrogen produced from renewable electricity in the country.”

“The government has taken full measure of these opportunities by recently announcing a support plan for hydrogen transport. We are very happy and motivated at the idea of participating in the development of hydrogen mobility in Italy alongside our partner Simplifhy.”

Sergio Torriani, Chairman and CEO of Simplifhy, declared:

We share with HRS a vision that decarbonizing transportation with hydrogen implies a smart and holistic approach.

“We partner with top companies to be faster in offering competitive and ready-to-deliver solutions. This is why HRS is a so unique partner for us.”

“With HRS’ leadership team, Hassen, Olivier and Adamo we can create a value proposition in the Italian market, delivering a complete supply chain of production, storage and distribution with the highest standards of safety, quality and reliability”.
