Hydrogen Valleys Summit – Poznan hosts groundbreaking hydrogen event.

Hydrogen valleys are large-scale projects that showcase the hydrogen ecosystem locally, bringing together all elements of hydrogen production, storage, transport and end-use in one place. These projects are at the top of the European Commission’s agenda, as evidenced by the allocation of EUR 200 million from the REPowerEU programme, in addition to the funds already available through the Clean Hydrogen Partnership. In 2023, there will already be 65 Hydrogen Valleys in Europe.

The H2 Valleys Summit will take place on 24 April in Poznań as part of the H2Poland & NetZero Forum and is co-organised by: Wielkopolskie Voivodeship and Hydrogen Europe.

Among others, the summit will bring together industry leaders, decision-makers and researchers from across the continent and beyond to further knowledge and promote the concept of Hydrogen Valleys.

Jorg Chatzimarkakis, According to Hydrogen Europe CEO:

Hydrogen Valleys are the best answer to the difficult task of scaling up the hydrogen economy in the EU and achieving the ambitious targets set by REPowerEU.

Hydrogen is an opportunity for Europe for economic growth, technological development, new jobs, decarbonisation and increased energy independence. Hydrogen also presents challenges in terms of infrastructure needs, storage and increasing the availability of renewable energy.

Jacek Boguslawski, Member of the Board of the Wielkopolska Region:

The H2 Valleys Summit initiative is a platform for current and future hydrogen project developers (…) We are building a common European hydrogen market by sharing knowledge and experience.

Wielkopolska’s recent admission to Hydrogen Europe, a Brussels-based industry association for the development of the hydrogen economy, underlines the region’s commitment to promoting innovation in sustainable energy. As a member of the regional HE pillar, the Wielkopolska Region will work with other European regions as well as industry stakeholders to increase hydrogen initiatives across the continent. “We want to strengthen the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship’s activism at the EU level and point to the important role we play in integrating communities, sharing knowledge, raising public acceptance in light of the changes taking place and the challenges of the energy transition.” – These are the words of the Marshal of the Wielkopolska Region, Marek Woźniak, confirming Wielkopolska’s willingness to commit to green energy.

Join us at the Hydrogen Valleys Summit in Poznań in April, where we will meet to discuss how to support the development and deployment of regional ecosystems across Europe and strengthen the critical inter-regional connections needed to build a European hydrogen economy.
