Hydroplane Highlights Integrating its Hydrogen Fuel Cell Powerplant at EBACE 2024.
Los Angeles-based Hydroplane (EBACE Booth D19 in the Innovation Pavilion) will showcase how to integrate its Hydrogen Fuel Cell Powerplant in aircraft for primary propulsion and auxiliary power at the 2024 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2024) May 28-30, 2024.
Hydroplane’s booth is in EBACE’s Innovation Pavilion, which features a select number of advanced air mobility (AAM) companies with game-changing technologies that demonstrate the future of business aviation. The booth will include displays of Hydroplane’s hydrogen fuel cell powerplant as well as a new behind the scenes video that shows the build and test of the 100% Hydrogen powered Protium Aircraft. On Wednesday May 30th at 3PM CET, CEO Dr. Anita Sengupta will give a workshop on how to integrate the Hydroplane Powerplant into your aircraft.
Hydroplane CEO Dr. Anita Sengupta is also a key speaker on two EBACE panels taking place on the Innovation Stage:
The Hydrogen Horizon: From H2 to Net Zero
Exploring the entire supply chain from airport solutions to revolutionary engine manufacturers and operators
When: Wednesday, 29 May, from 13:00 to 14:00
Going the Extra Mile – Will Intermodal Transportation Expand Business Aviation?
Highlighting the integration of innovative and sustainable aircraft with other modes of transportation.
When: Thursday, 30 May, 11:30 to 12:30
Sengupta, a former NASA aerospace engineer turned entrepreneur, said:
We are thrilled to not only highlight our innovative and sustainable hygrogram fuel cell powerplant solution but also help build excitement about the future of hydrogen aviation fuel at Europe’s premiere business aviation future technologies event.
“Capable of powering fixed wing, advanced air mobility, and vertical lift aircraft, Hydroplane’s hydrogen fuel cell powerplant will deliver affordable zero-emission electric propulsion that significantly outperforming batteries. Innovative, safe, and sustainable, hydrogen is the future of aviation power.”
A two-time US Air Force Agility Prime contract winner and Army xTech8 competition winner, Hydroplane is a woman-owned company focused on developing affordable hydrogen fuel cell powerplant technology for existing single engine aircraft and auxiliary power units. Hydroplane’s modular and scalable powerplant can replace existing combustion powerplants in today’s single engine and tomorrow’s AAM platforms, while simultaneously delivering a significant improvement in range, endurance, and payload over the battery-powered equivalent. The powerplant will also significantly lower operating costs compared to conventional piston engines.
Hydroplane hydrogen fuel powerplant benefits:
- Electric aviation with regional range
- No battery charging required
- Zero carbon emissions
- Longer flight time/further range than battery-powered engines
- Low operations and maintenance costs
- Reduced noise signature
- Designed to be a direct replacement up to 1MW powerplants with competitive range and installation cost
