Impact Hydrogen with global ambitions opens office in Scheemda

Scheemda – Since this week, an international company called Impact Hydrogen has been located in the former station building of Scheemda and was officially opened by alderman Erich Wünker on Thursday afternoon. The port of directors are Managing Director Sharon Becker and CEO Nienke Homan.

Nienke Homan
Nienke is an international expert in the field of energy transition, specialized in green hydrogen, energy systems, infrastructure and industrial transitions. She plays a leading role in the energy transition in the Netherlands and is internationally recognized as a thought leader in the field of Sustainable Hydrogen Valleys. As regional state secretary, Nienke was responsible for realizing the Hydrogen Valley (HEAVENN) in the Northern Netherlands.

She is also chair of the Royal Association of the Dutch Chemical Industry (VNCI) and holds various advisory and management positions at the Green Hydrogen Organization in Geneva and chair of the Dutch Ceramic Industry.

Sharon Becker
Sharon Becker is an expert in renewable energy and its socio-economic impacts. Sharon is a pioneer in the development of hydrogen valleys and complex value chains that stimulate regional prosperity.

With extensive experience in strategic development in Africa, Asia and Europe, she works globally to make value chains more sustainable and contribute to regional development. Sharon’s strategic commitment to system change ensures she is a key contributor to progress in sustainable energy.

It is a company that is working worldwide to introduce hydrogen and focuses on training skilled workers with knowledge about these new technologies and upcoming innovations. At the moment, this new company already employs a large number of people.

Nienke Homan, said:

We already have many hydrogen experts working for us, three technical experts, a business developer, this is someone who brings in projects for us.

“We also have an electrical technician, a communications employee and a jack of all trades, who usually arranges the transports for us. We mainly organize hydrogen projects, the production of hydrogen, the transport and the purchase of it. This is organized in such a way that small companies are also involved.”

Nienk, says :

We also organize hydrogen chains in the Netherlands, including a large project in Flevoland, but most of the work for us lies abroad.

“For example, we have done a large project in Spain and at the moment we are working extensively in South Africa and Namibia. We advise more on how to approach this new form of energy, so that it contributes to employment, combating climate change, etc.”,
