Greenstat AS, through its subsidiary Greenstat Hydrogen India PVT Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the state-owned Indian energy company Indian Oil, witnessed by the Norwegian Embassy and several Indian ministers from the Ministry of Petroleum, Nature, Gas & Steel, as well as the chairman of the board of Indian Oil.
The agreement covers cooperation in several areas and is mainly about the establishment of a Norwegian-Indian competence center on hydrogen (Center of Excellence-Hydrogen).
The center will be established on Indian Oil’s campus outside Delhi and Greenstat will, in collaboration with several Norwegian hydrogen players, facilitate collaboration at the monetary level, between Norwegian and Indian R&D institutions and between commercial players. An overriding goal is to increase Norwegian exports of hydrogen technology and expertise to the Indian market.
The center will be an important engine for speeding up the hydrogen economy in India and the partnership with such a large player as Indian Oil, will enable rapid rollout of projects throughout India.
