The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy had a meeting with potential investors in the U.S. hydrogen industry at the Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Seminar (HFCS) that took place in Long Beach, California on Feb. 8.

This year, South Korea participated as a host country in the HFCS hosted by the U.S. Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Energy Association and sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy. More than 70 enterprises and organizations joined the seminar to discuss global issues and seek business opportunities.

There, South Korea exhibited and promoted various hydrogen-based products, including hydrogen-fueled trucks. In addition, it held an industry roundtable with the United States to have policy and business discussions.

The United States is aiming to lower its clean hydrogen production cost to US$1 per kilogram within 10 years. The U.S. government is pursuing the goal by providing various incentives and supports and the U.S. hydrogen industry is expected to grow rapidly for years.
