Lhyfe delivers 338 kg of renewable hydrogen to the first green and local multi-energy station in France.

[Nouvelles Graines] Lhyfe, a global pioneer and pure player in the production of renewable green hydrogen, has supplied from its site in Bouin, Vendée, the multi-energy station of La Roche-Sur-Yon deployed by SYDEV and Vendée Energie, the first green and local multi-energy station in France.

Unique in France in its scale, the La-Roche-sur-Yon multi-energy station offers in one place the distribution of three green energies all produced locally and in a short circuit to promote carbon-free mobility: green hydrogen produced by Lhyfe, bioNGV (Natural Gas for Vehicles) from methanizers present on the department’s farms and green electricity from photovoltaic power plants.

338 kilos of renewable hydrogen were delivered to the station. This green energy was produced about sixty kilometers away, at Lhyfe’s first production site in Bouin – the first in the world to produce renewable hydrogen from wind turbines and on an industrial scale – itself inaugurated last September.

September – December: only 4 months to lay the foundations of a completely new sector (production site, distribution station, first vehicles…). Synchronization is unprecedented thanks to the mobilization of public and private actors in the territory. To ensure that the whole process is totally virtuous, the delivery trucks will also run on hydrogen: Lhyfe is waiting for the upcoming delivery of a retrofité truck.

This fuel will make it possible to supply the first uses of hydrogen in the department: buses, dumpsters, heavy trucks, light vehicles for intensive use…

Matthieu Guesné, founding president of Lhyfe.

The question we are regularly asked is that of the egg or the chicken.

“The example of the implementation of the hydrogen sector in the Pays de la Loire Region shows that the solution is to build a first ecosystem to match supply and demand, and to deploy all the elements at the same time: vehicles, production sites, distribution sites.”

“We are really very proud to see these first vehicles running on our renewable hydrogen. Ecological mobility is finally a reality!”

About Lhyfe

Created in 2017 in Nantes (France), Lhyfe is a producer and supplier of green and renewable hydrogen for mobility and industry.

Finally, its production sites provide access to renewable hydrogen in industrial quantities, and enter a virtuous energy model oriented towards environmental benefit. Lhyfe has subsidiaries in Germany, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands and Spain, it will soon have a hundred employees. Thanks for staying up to date with Hydrogen Central.

It is a member of France Hydrogen and Hydrogen Europe. Lhyfe raised €70 million in funding between 2019 and 2021 and inaugurated its first industrial green hydrogen production site on 30 September 2021 in the Vendée.
