Madrid Electrolyser Conference 2025: Advancing Industrial Electrolysis
The Madrid Electrolyser Conference will convene leading engineers, researchers, and industry specialists from 24–26 November 2025 to address the technical and industrial challenges of scaling up electrolysis systems for clean hydrogen production, providing a deep technical platform focused on the engineering, component development, and manufacturing processes driving the next generation of large-scale electrolysers.
Hosted in collaboration with Accelera by Cummins, the conference opens on 24 November with an on-site visit to Accelera’s gigafactory in Guadalajara – one of Europe’s most advanced facilities for PEM electrolyser production, with a capacity of 500 MW per year, scalable to over 1 GW.
The visit includes an interactive workshop on electrolyser technology and manufacturing at Accelera, followed by a panel discussion on how to meet RED III requirements through dynamic operation of PEM systems. Participants will explore the technical implications of flexible electrolyser operation for renewable hydrogen certification and balance-of-plant integration. The site visit concludes with a networking session at the factory.
Technical depth across the value chain
The subsequent two-day conference (25–26 November) will feature technical presentations and discussions on:
- Industrialisation and scaling of PEM, AEM, and alkaline electrolysers
- Component and materials innovation in electrodes, membranes, and separators
- Advanced manufacturing processes and digital tools for cost and performance optimisation
- System integration, safety, and standardisation
- Testing, lifetime assessment, and reliability modelling
Confirmed speakers represent companies and institutions including Accelera by Cummins, Enapter, Elogen, Ariema, R2, Jolt Activated Electrodes, Versogen, Fraunhofer IFAM, EPRI, ZBT, Holst Centre (TNO), CIEMAT, Hydrolite, Naco Technologies, and Siemens AG.
Why attend The Madrid Electrolyser Conference offers a focused technical environment for decision-makers and specialists working with electrolysis technologies. Delegates gain comparable insight into PEM, AEM and alkaline systems, including cost and industrialisation aspects, and benefit from direct exposure to gigafactory-scale manufacturing and RED III / RFNBO-related questions during the Accelera site visit. The programme also provides targeted networking with peers and suppliers along the electrolyser value chain.
