Malaga students patent an innovative solar desalination system to produce green hydrogen.

The European panorama of innovation has as protagonists a group of students from Malaga. They have created ADSOL, a floating desalination plant that operates with solar energy, an invention that has earned them a prestigious award at a continental level.

ADSOL is not an ordinary desalination plant. Unlike conventional systems that use reverse osmosis to desalinate seawater, ADSOL does so by condensation, feeding mainly on solar energy.

In a space of 9 square meters, this invention is capable of transforming salty seawater into freshwater with energy consumption reduced to only 17% compared to traditional desalination plants.

ADSOL: A sustainable and efficient solution.

In addition to its energy efficiency, ADSOL allows better handling of the resulting brine, reducing its environmental impact. The water obtained through this system turns out to be of superior purity, a crucial advantage for the production of green hydrogen in the high seas, a sector where energy efficiency and water purity are essential.

With a production capacity of up to 1 cubic meter of water per day, ADSOL has attracted the attention of international investors. In fact, it already has an international patent and has aroused the interest of investors from Israel, a country recognized for its leadership in desalination technologies.

ADSOL: A project with international sights.
The achievement of these young people from Malaga represents significant progress in water management, an increasingly critical issue in the context of climate change. His project, now on the radar of important international players, is a sample of the talent, creativity and commitment to sustainability of the next generation of scientists and engineers.
